David Alexopoulos' bio (with pictures)
61Bianchi Eros mine is retro but looks like this now:
I am definitely into alternative medicine, but also road biking, computer and wii games with my kids, plants, and a lot of computer related stuff. I bike with an older Bottechia, and a younger Bianchi Eros, which I've ramped up, and did the carbon wheel thing, etc. In the early morning times, I enjoy going on long bike rides when everything is fresh and the sun is shining brightly through the trees. Not only do I get to exercise, but I also get to view nature at it's best time of the day.
I am also getting into aero-gardening, which is quite the hobby in itself (plants are in the family), so I started out with a smaller quasi-aero planting kit, that will yield 3 plants. It's not a full sized one, but I will get to that a little later. My kids are totally facinated with it, and everyone that visits loves it and thinks it's a great idea, I love it too.
I am very interested in going full-on aero-gardening, which means the water is distributed by a 2.5 micron drops (really small), dry/cold fogger (whoa, now that's technical), and the roots don't really drop into the water directly, but are constantly moist. I think I could build a much bigger system and stick it out in my garage.
I do like GQ, and please don't flame me because I have good taste in clothing; It's ok, I don't mind what you wear, I just like wearing the nice stuff. I love everything Italian, and I think that Italy is a pro-generator of some of the classiest styles and trends out there today. (it's ok, you can disagree, I won't be offended), So I like fashion stuff as well, who cares?
I love to travel, but it's getting a little scary now, and it was much easier before I had a family. I love drinks with umbrellas (must be the Hawaiian influence) and especially a good cognac. I shamelessly smoke Monte Cristo cigars (maybe once a month if that). The "classic" Monte Cristo tastes the best to me. I also like to collect framed butterflies, and large size Lord fo the Rings action figures, I know, I know, childish.
Bend, Oregon
I also hike with my family, although lately that's been a bit of a challenge due to a new arrival. We are going to get back into hiking this spring, but some of the places we go, little children would have a hard time getting around. I have lived in Bend, Oregon, while going to college, for a few years, and that was awesome If you've never had the chance to ski there, it is very good, like Tahoe, just one main area to ski in. Then there is the mountain biking, fishing, golf (heated greens) and over-all feeling like you are in a small town and you could just walk a few feet away from your home and you are in the forest.
Hawaii...
I also lived in Oahu, Hawaii, and went to school there as well. Hawaii is awesome, and I'll never forget the first time I went there with family, and the smell of the fragrant flowers hit me-the same smell I get from the lei's. One strange thing I noticed while driving to Hanama Bay was some sort of insect that makes an incredible noise, maybe it's a locust? I could live the rest of my life there, between that and visiting Italy.
You'll see me either sign off with "Israelj" or "David Alexopoulos" as I have other blogs where I've used Israej as a login.
